Be kind to yourself

Be kind to yourself.

Sometimes being kind takes a lot of work. Practicing kindness to your own self requires a different level of dedication. We have thoughts that are not true, and frankly, they are unkind.

Some of those words, those thoughts….

Would you say them to your loved one? Would you say them to your kids? Would you say them to your spouse? What about your best friend, the neighbor, the bagger at the grocery store….in all reality, No.

I didn’t think so.

Why is it okay for you to say this to yourself? For starters, it’s very much NOT okay to be unkind to yourself.

Let me help clarify your thoughts…

Your thoughts are on the left, my response to you is bolded:

§  I’m not enough;  yes you are.

§  I’m not doing it right; yes you are.

§  I should be doing something else; you’re doing exactly what you should be doing.

§  I should have done this earlier/at another time; nope, you weren’t ready for it then….now is the perfect time for you.

§  If I make the changes I want to make, then I will be happy; why can’t you be happy now?

Read that last part again….Why can’t you be happy now?

Being happy is a feeling that is generated from a thought that you believe. Believe that you are everything you want to be (believe it right now!), and your brain will look for proof of that success.
